Meet our founder
Hello, my name is Angie Smulkis, founder and lead designer. At Hachiman Futures Design Studio, as a Client, you would work directly with me on all design projects.
For frequently asked questions, here's a little history of how I got into the web design industry.
I was born in Chicago, IL, and moved to New Mexico shortly after. Through my youth, I also lived and grew up in Texas, Michigan, and Illinois. I spent my teen years in Illinois. Raised In a family of European entrepreneurs, I started out into art, and sports, (Hockey Player and Freestyle Rollerblader) (Samurai Sculpture and painter). A few short years of being a freestyle rollerblader, I saw the downfall of our industry and it inpsired me to start my own Action Sports Clothing Co. With my athletic abilities and artistic point of view, there was no time to waste. So without wasting a minute, I did.
This is where my passion for web design came in. In order to start my own company, I needed an online pressence. The idea of it all was to start my business online, and if it was successful, I could then eventually have my product in clothing shops around the world. If it grew big enough, I could then open my own shops in the near future. I knew what I wanted, and how I wanted to get there. With that said, I'm a "Do it yourself kind of person". I picked up a book, and started learning all of the basics to build my own website for my own company using XHTML, Graphic Design, and Flash. I built my own website. As an athlete and company owner, gradually seven years passed. I grew a lot as an athlete, web developer, and company owner. I learned everything I needed to know to make my company and online pressence a reality.
Three years ago I realized how passionate I was about web and graphic design. I thought," Why not make what I'm passionate about into a full time job?" I wanted to share my work with the world. I've seen some horrible websites out there... So the only chance I had at giving clients a professional and artistic website, was to make one website at a time. "If you have a website that's in dire need of an entire redesign, yeah I'm pointing at you!" Every business (website) deserves a chance at being beautiful in its own uniqe way, just like every mother deserves to have a nice smile, even dads.
